Some details about Xiaomi’s first buttonless smartphone have been leaked. According to a study by XiaomiTime, this device будет введен in 2025. Back in July, a device codenamed “zhuque” was found on XiaomiTime’s Mi Code, and we thought it might be the new Xiaomi MIX 5. The name “Zhuque”, according to the Taoist system of the five elements, Wu Xing, represents the element of fire, the southern direction and, accordingly, the summer season. For this reason, it is sometimes also called the Bird of the South (Chinese: 南方朱雀, Nán Fāng Zhū Què). This made us think that the new device might belong to the premium MIX series. The fact that the new MIX smartphone was registered on the Mi Code website along with other high-end devices also supported this idea.

Recently, more information has emerged that confirms the previous assumptions. It seems that the “gummy” device will be released in two versions – Sputnik and standard. This suggests that one of the models may include advanced satellite connectivity, a feature that is becoming increasingly common in high-end smartphones.

Mi Code also revealed that the “zhuque” device is likely to be a buttonless phone. References to “Removebutton” codes were found in the HyperOS framework, hinting that the phone’s design will have no physical buttons, allowing the entire front of the phone to be used as a screen.
