Real incomes of households rose on the back of the economic growth, Belarus' Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Kartun said as he commented on the main macroeconomic indicators in January-October 2023, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry. As the National Statistical Committee noted earlier, Belarus' GDP rose up by 3.8% in January-October. Thus, the 2023 target was met ahead of schedule.

Belarusian Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov spoke about the 2024 budget as he talked to the Belarus 1 TV channel on 5 November, BelTA has learned. As it has been reported, in 2024 the main tasks for the public finance sector are to ensure economic growth based on improving the efficiency of the use of external and internal resources and reducing regional imbalances. The budget expenditures will remain socially orientated.

As of 6 November Belarus harvested over 9,317,300 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry. Harvesting of corn kernels is underway in all the regions of the country, with 227,800 hectares of land already cleared.

As of 17 July, winter barley was harvested from 138,200ha of land (90.3% of the harvested acreage), with 485,100 tonnes threshed (the average yield stood at 35.1 centners per hectare). Winter rapeseed for grain was gathered in from 37,600ha of land or 11.29% of the targeted area, with 70,300 tonnes threshed (the average yield stood at 18.7 centners per hectare).

Mogilev Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko briefed the head of state on the main indicators of the socio-economic performance of the region. The gross regional product in Mogilev Oblast in January-May made up 98.6% as to the same period a year before. “You have three failures in the region. The most surprising thing is that the industry in the region is also failing,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. Anatoly Isachenko clarified that the region cannot reach the GRP targets due to poor results in manufacturing, retail and wholesale trade. As far as manufacturing is concerned, there are issues in two industries — woodworking and cement production. They are to be resolved by the end of the year, some progress has already been made.
